lease of the area they require which amounts to 2,726 square feet on the following terms:
(a). The existing Crown Lease of Inland Lot 1280 to be
surrendered to Government within one month from the date of a letter signed by the Director of Public Works stating that these terms have been approved by the Secretary of State.
(b). The lessees to be granted a new lease of Inland Lot
1280 including the extension, the new lease to be for
the same period and to commence from the same date as the existing lease.
(c). Premium at the rate of $2.50 per square foot, viz:
$6,815.00 for the extension to be paid into the Colonial Treasury within 7 days of the date of the letter mentioned in (a); this is the same rate at which
the original lot was sold.
(d). Crown rent at the rate of $600 per acre, viz: £38.00
per annum for the extension to commence from the date of the letter mentioned in (a). The revised Crow rent for the re-adjusted lot will be 118.00 per annum. (e). A sum of not less than $10,000 to be spent on buildings on the area within 24 months of a notice from the Director of Public Works requiring the lessees to erect such buildings. The design, planning, elevations, number of storeys, height and style of any such build- ings to be subject to the special approval of Director
of Public Works.
(f). The lessees to construct substantial retaining walls
where necessary to obviate landslips in the event of
their cutting down the site.
(g). In the event of any excavation being done on the lot,
the lessees to take such precautions as the Director
of Public Works may direct to ensure the safety of the
